Amos Blanchard House and Barn Museum in downtown Andover,
Massachusetts, recreates the life and times of a typical middle-class
family of the early 19th century. Educational programs and
changing exhibits explore many aspects of Andover's fascinating

Andover Historical Society, founded in 1911, maintains the museum and
operates a library, archives and research center where objects and
documents of local historical significance are collected, preserved,

Following up the very successful "Main Street Memories' exhibit, The Andover Historical Society is seeking contributions from the community to support the upcoming exhibition titled, From Near and Far: 350 years of Making Andover Home, due to open February 2009. |  Workers at the Smith and Dove factory, circa 1900 |  Boston & Maine Railroad Station platform circa 1900 |  Allen Hinton's Ice Cream Farm in April 1874 | The Andover Historical Society is particularly interested in what drew newcomers to Andover, what the process of settling into the Andover community has been like and how the town has evolved as new recipients have made Andover their home. If you have photographs, documents, memorabilia or a story to share about why you, your family, your business or organization moved to Andover, the Historical Society wants to hear from you. Some topics of particular interest include:
Mill workers ancestors: Smith and Dove, Tyre Rubber, etc Local educational and religious institutions Families and businesses who moved here with the construction of I-93 or I-495 Raytheon and other 'tech boom' arrivals Other personal family stories

The Andover Historical society is pleased to announce four afternoons set aside especially for Girl Scouts.
